This video doesn't i think depict music from the mix, but it does depict its strangeness and surreal charm..
Andy Votel and Jane Weaver have brewed a magical blend of spectral, eldritch, female-centric folk called Europium Alluminate. Its tracklist (damnably AWOL, as is common with many Votel-helmed mixes) emanates from a time when irony in music was mostly unconscionable. The prevalent doe-eyed sincerity is positively touching and the gentle sonic strangeness utterly charming.here
Vague tracklist, from what i managed to 'Shazam'!!:-
*Pearl's Dream (from b/w old film Night of the Hunter)
*My name is Nobody -Ennio Morricone from ??
*Say your prayers -Dot -From comp lp 'Everything you ever wanted to know about Twisted Nerve but were Afraid to Ask'
*Turning in Circles -Jane Weaver from'The Fallen By Watch Bird'
*Valzerino del Nonno -Carlo Savina & Orchestra- from 'Giulietta Degli Spiriti'
*Noctilumina - Jane Weaver- Fallen by Watch Bird
*Lilith -singing in the Dark -Bruno Spoerri - 'Glucksgugel'
*Prinderella -The Holy Mackerel -The Holy Mackerel
*Est-ce que tu -Dusty Trails -'Dusty Trails'
*Magic Man -Heart - 'Dreamboat Annie'
*March of the Siamese Children -Martin Denny -' the Exotic Sounds of Martin Denny'
*Rosemary's Party - Urszula Dudziak -Rosemary's Baby OST
*Tape-Tape-Tape - Jeanne Marie Sens -Dirty French Psychedelics
*H.i.a - Horrific Child - 'Letrange Mr Whinster'
*Jay -Grace Slick -'Manhole'
*Silver Chord -Jane Weaver -the Fallen by Watch Bird
..some of these are definites, some not so much, and there is still much good bits i couldnt tag at all... Never mind!

***Andy Votel (various artists) Vintage Voltage -Global Robotic Rock***
Review From Amazon.co.uk:
Volume 4 of Andy Votel's Fat City Mix CDs, this is another trawl through his global record collection. Whilst the previous three volumes have been mostly of the psych variety, the focus here is on electronic, synth driven pop and rock. Featuring cuts from 72 songs crammed into 78 minutes, there is no one except Votel that could conceive and pull something like this off - it's both audacious and bold but, like the previous volumes, it works perfectly.
Krautrock, Electro-Pop, Library and just about just about every known other-wordly genre - even Bollywood - have been cherry picked for obscure robotic and electronic sounds. It's seamlessly mixed and there is never a dull moment. As usual there's no track list and casual listeners will be hard pushed to name more than a few tracks - Votel does not deal in mainstream music.
Shazam says:
Zodiac ЗОДИАК (zodiac) (russian band)
Toc -tom ze -"estudando o samba" 1976
Robot - Plastics (Japan) - "forever plastico"
@37:21-40:40 -Guitar El Chark -Omar Khorshid -"Rhythms from the Orient" OR "Guitar El Chark" compilation ( <- ON THIS BLOG!!)
Jumping balls -klaus Weiss - Colours of Funk (Various artists)

Andy Votel -Music to Watch Girls Cry
And I thought I knew a lot of obscure tracks!!
Only a lifetime devoted to the unusual and strange on vinyl could enable Mr Votel to compile this mix album.
There's no track listing so perhaps these tracks are destined to remain anonymous - but I'd still love to know what some of them are.
If you liked DJ Shadow and Cut Chemist's Brainfreeze or David Holmes's Free Association mix then you'll love this - but be sure to bring your sense of humour.
There is some funk and soul - but also French yeye, garage sounding rockiness, Indian flavours, movie sountracks, folk and even something that sounds like Krautrock - but don't be put off!
At times it sounds like a soundtrack to a sixties swinging London film - if they'd invented turntablism and eclectic mixes in those days.
The sheer unlikely, joyous, juxtaposition of these tunes brings out something that I'm sure most would not pick up if these listen to these songs in isolation.
The mixing is a little cut and paste at times and seems to drift off in quality towards the end - but that's just a small criticism. There are apparently 75 tracks in 76 minutes so its no surprise if its a little raw - but that only adds to its carefree anything-goes nature.
As the number of corporate mixes seems to be on the increase and you can't move for generic computerized 'Ibiza' 'Beach' 'Misery of Sound' boring and unimaginative mixes this is a welcome breath of fresh air.
More please.

Andy Votel -Songs in the Key of Death (Various Artists)
4 of 5 people found the following review helpful: Andy Votel Songs In The Key Of Death, 18 May 2005 By "reviewsbyfaz" -Andy Votel long time Fat City collaborator and label boss of Twisted Nerve which brought Badly Drawn Boy to our attention. Serves up the best offering so far of his eccentric vinyl obsessive genius and it's a blinder! This is essentially a 60 minute mash up mix of spoken word samples and no less than 100 obscure funk records and from all over the globe, which even has the time to include bizarre karaoke covers of The Beatles. This is all held together by a frenetic pace which keeps you hooked from start to finish, and is extremely difficult not to enjoy.
FORGOTTEN SOUNDS, 23 Nov 2005 By Mr. C. D. Mabbutt "cdmabbutt" (Derby) -It was always going to be hard for Mr.Votel to follow up the intense and mesmeristic 'Music To Watch Girls Cry' and he nearly does it with this second installment of crashed and mashed (I Watch Girls Cry' and he nearly does it with this second installment of crashed and mashed (I mean that in a potato way) comp. The first couple of tracks on 'Songs in...' as outstanding and allow one's jaw to simply, if not completely, drop. BUT it is not long until Mr.Votel begins to drop in the duds. There are not many but they do grate a little. drop in the duds. There are not many but they do grate a little. Andy Votel does a fine job of taking both known and unknown sounds and creating an audio montage out of em, similar to DJ Shadow in some respects but with less ego and a more ironic sense of humour. In no way do I regret purchasing this album, for it a splendid thing. But I would recommend both its prequel and the more recent Vertigo Mixed above it.

Prog is Not a Four Letter Word -Andy Votel (Various Artists)
omur biter yol bimez -typical prog track
Album Description
• Whoever came up with the over-pretentious, collective term "Progressive Rock" couldn’t have been less forward thinking. Prog rock in its truest form was not a ‘restrictive’ genre - it was a movement that unified ALL genres.
• Forget such flamboyant cover stars such as Genesis, Yes and ELP, what of the truly progressive international rock musicians who started their own hybrid-hurricanes outside the rectangular iris of Prog's media storm? What about the unintentionally progressive musicians from the far reaches of the globe who were forced to create their own brand of psychedelic rock in a country shielded from the influence of the western world? And why don’t we spare a thought (and some needle time), for the culturally progressive crusaders carrying the rock-music flag in the face of political adversity risking social ostrasization or even death?
• Even though most of the 15 tracks on this compilation were recorded over 30 years ago they still, individually embody a wide range of challenging progressive musical ideas which are as relevant today as they were when the vinyl first came off the press in each of their scattered countries of origin.
• "Prog Is Not A Four Letter Word" is the follow-up to ANDY VOTEL (TWISTED NERVE)’s critically acclaimed "Folk Is Not A Four Letter Word" (CDDELAY01), which caused quite a stir earlier this year.
• The majority of these tracks have never before been on CD, many appear here for the first time away from their highly sought after, and stupendously rare, original releases.
*Psychelatte's Verdict: Very cool and weird offbeat collection of sounds from all round the globe!

Vertigo Mixed .... by Andy Votel
Andy Votel has produced a gem of a CD having somehow polished his beloved Vertigo collection of rough stones down producing a 60 minute mix CD featuring his pick of the bunch. Andy’s had an nfatuation with the Vertigo rock catalogue for 20 years and explains infatuation with the Vertigo rock catalogue for 20 years and explains on the sleeve the choice was tough, “As any symphonic-rock enthusiast will testify, prog rock tracks are not short.” 4 tracks alone could fill up this hour long album and It is testament to this DJ’s skil he has succeeded in arranging a CD grabbing your attention from start to finish, 52 superb tracks squeezed in to 68 minutes of classic progressive & psychedelic music. Don’t be put off if you don’t recognise many names on the back cover, your peers will think you truly Avant Garde and any self cover, your peers will think you truly Avant Garde and any self-respecting muso would give his right arm for this collection. Vertigo records have so many layers they are simultaneously rocky, funky, moody & generally kick ass. Highlight of the album is the mesmerising minute long drum solo towards the end inducing the kind of dizziness you’d expect with Vertigo. This a great record to warm up pre-gig with a few JD and coke, just don’t forget to go out!
